Installation
-
Turn off the DVD player and HDTV.
-
Connect an HDMI cable between the DVD player and the HDMI IN port of the HDMI-SLC or HDMI-ELC Local Unit.

Connect an HDMI cable between the HDTV and the HDMI OUT port of the HDMI-SRC or HDMI-ERC Remote Unit.

Connect a CAT.5 cable between the LINK port of the HDMI-ELC Local Unit and the LINK port of the HDMI-SRC or HDMI-ERC Remote Unit.

Connect the power adapters and power on the extender units.

Turn on the DVD player and HDTV. When the HDMI-ELC is operating in BYPASS mode, the LINK port should remain unused.
IR Receiver Cable Directions:
Connect the IR Receiver Cable to the IR2 IN port of the HDMI-SRC or HDMI-ERC Remote Unit. Place the IR Receiver Cable in a convenient location where it can easily receive signals from the IR remote control.
IR Blaster Cable Directions:
Connect the IR Blaster Cable to the IR OUT port of the HDMI-SLC or HDMI-ELC Local Unit. Position the IR Blaster in front of the DVD player's IR sensor, which is located on the front panel.

Note
In demonstrations or laboratory environments, UTP cables are often coiled for convenience. Cable coiling may introduce minor signal degradation, which can slightly reduce the maximum transmission distance compared to a straight cable.
However, coiling a CAT5E cable around a 70 cm diameter drum has only a minimal impact on Far-End Crosstalk (FEXT) compared with a fully extended cable.
